What's Going On Here?

I had to temporarily go on a low-iodine diet in preparation for medical treatment.  The ThyCa Cookbook is a great resource if you have to be on LID but since I also have to stick to a strict gluten-free diet not all of the recipes were useful exactly as published.  I also realized as I started planning that there are a ton of other tasty options either as-is or with minimal adjustment.  I'm using this page to keep track of meals that are both low iodine and gluten free for the unfortunate and hopefully small number of people who have these dietary restrictions.

I think of this project as more of a meal planning resource than a recipe blog, meaning I usually link to recipes (with notes about modifications as applicable) rather than re-publishing them.  I feel squiffy about nabbing traffic and intellectual property from recipe blogs and also I am very lazy.  In addition to not being a recipe blog it's also not an exact record of everything I ate on a given day.  Mentally throw in about half a pound of Skittles per entry if you want more precision.

And hey you know what I'm not? A doctor! There are some differing opinions about what foods are sufficiently low in iodine and don't even get me started on what should and should not be considered gluten free so check with a medical professional and use your judgment if you see something listed here that may not jibe with your own dietary needs.
